Jana Höffner has digitally translated the „Politik des Gehörtwerdens“ (Policy of Being Heard) in Baden-Wuerttemberg. She co-designed the unique participation portal and the new governmental website Baden-Württemberg.de at the State Ministry. As head of department, she was responsible for online communication for the state government, where she set standards in government communication. Baden-Württemberg has been using TYPO3 for Baden-Württemberg, the participation portal and ministry pages since 2013. Since then an extensive ecosystem with numerous features for political communication has emerged based on TYPO3.

In early 2023, Jana Höffner joined the agency ressourcenmangel. There, she advises clients from the public sector on the topic of Citizen Experience. She advocats the use of Open Source solutions for the public sector.
